It seems like an age ago that I applied for the opportunity to take part in this trip and I remember the excitement that I felt when I found out that I had been accepted as a part of the Portal learning group. Over the past few weeks the excitement (and nerves) have grown as I am about to leave. I will keep you updated with my experiences and am looking forward to replies and comments to my posts.

Hopefully your having fun I really like Taavinkyla school and love how they make their own slippers and jumpers bye.
They are really cool! They have home economics (cookery, woodwork and textiles) all the way through school for two hours a week. Some of the things I have seen them make is incredible. I was in a class today and a girl was making a chopping board to take home and use. She was only 13 and she had done it all herself!
